MAKING JOLLOF RICE THE NIGERIAN WAY

 Welcome back to my food blog! I'm here with a new recipe and this time its a Nigerian dish that is well known and very famous .

INGREDIENTS

    Canned Hunts Tomato (unsalted)

    Canned Tomato Paste

    Large Whole Red Onion
  • 1 cup
    Red Onion (chopped)
  • ¼ cup
    Blended Crayfish
  • 4
    Habanero Peppers (based on how spicy you want)
  • 4 ½ cups
    Long Grain Parboiled Rice
  • 2 cups
    Chicken Stock
  • 1 tablespoon
    Knorr Cubes (or maggi)
  • 1 tablespoon
    Salt
  • ½ teaspoon
    Cayenne Pepper And Black Pepper
  • ½ teaspoon
    White Pepper
  • 3
    Single Bay Leaves
  • ½ tablespoon
    Curry Powder
  • ½ teaspoon
    Onion Powder (garlic)
  • ½ teaspoon
    Thyme
  • ¼ teaspoon
    Ginger
Butter
1 cup margarine or 1 1/3 cup whipped butter (for sauteing) or 1 cup hydrogenated fat plus 1/2 teaspoon salt
Red Bell Peppers
3 tablespoon fresh red bell pepper, chopped or 2 tablespoon pimiento, choppedCurry Powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom, 1/2 teaspoon cayenne, 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander seed, 1/2 teaspoon cumin, 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
Onion Powder
1 tablespoon instant minced onion
Thyme
basil, marjoram, oregano, or savory
Ginger
allspice, cinnamon, mace, or nutmeg or 1/8 teaspoon powdered ginger
